REV\/REV Business awards $22,000 in local scholarships to Lafourche Parish high school seniors<\/strong><\/div>\n
\nTo-date, $930,000 in scholarships have been awarded to local high school seniors\n<\/em><\/div>\n
Larose, La.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\u2013\u00a0<\/span>REV<\/a>\/REV Business<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>recently awarded scholarships to seniors in the Bayou Region service area from Central Lafourche High School, E.D. White Catholic High School and South Lafourche High School during the schools\u2019 senior awards ceremonies.<\/div>\n

Since 1945, REV (formerly known as Vision Communications and Latelco) has remained dedicated to serving the local community and supporting education. The academic scholarship program was founded in 1984 and has been one of the telecommunications provider\u2019s most enduring programs. To-date, REV has awarded over 200 scholarships to deserving seniors in the Bayou Region (Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes including Grand Isle) and currently has 18 students who are working towards their degree at various universities throughout the state.<\/div>\n

\u201cAt REV, we\u2019re committed to education, and are proud to continue the scholarship program to support students in the local communities we serve,\u201d said Peter Louviere, CFO of REV\/REV Business. \u201cOur scholarship program is currently in its 39th year, and we\u2019ve awarded 228 scholarships for a total of $930,000. Every year, the students continue to raise the bar on academic achievement, and this year was not any different. I\u2019m excited to see what the future holds for these students, and my hope is that they will one day return to this community to live and work.\u201d<\/div>\n

This year, $22,000 in scholarship funds were awarded to the following local high school seniors:<\/div>\n

- Daniela Galicia (South Lafourche High School)<\/li>\n\t

- Braden Perez (South Lafourche High School)<\/li>\n\t
- Ross Rodrigue (South Lafourche High School)<\/li>\n\t
- Luke Sanamo (South Lafourche High School)<\/li>\n\t
- Ava Zelesnik (E.D. White Catholic High School).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\u201cThis year\u2019s load of applicants was heavy, and the competition was thick — making the task extra tough for our teammates who had the duty of digging into applications, interviewing finalists and ultimately selecting winners,\u201d said Jeremy Theriot, Community Relations and Business Development director for REV\/REV Business. \u201cThis process is not something our teammates take lightly and while we wish we had an endless number of scholarships to go around, it\u2019s still an overwhelming joy to see so many scholars who qualify for this annual program.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\nEligibility, criteria and considerations for REV\u2019s scholarship program include being a current REV customer, residing in the REV Bayou Region service area, cumulative grade point average (GPA), American College Testing (ACT) scores, financial need, demonstrated leadership and community involvement. Candidates are also required to submit an essay as part of the application.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>
